Moltke Tactical Problem 2
How to do, facilitate and learn from Tactical Decision Games (TDGs) or if you go to United States Military Academy (West Point) Tactical Decision Exercises (TDEs).
This series presents in shortened video form the tactical problems Field Marshal Moltke presented at the Prussian Army Staff College. Note the format and methodology for the use of these games can be found at the Outcomes Based Learning (OBL) Professional Handbook, as well as at the Adaptive Leadership Training (ALT) workshops provided through Nemertes.com. These exercises may be applied to any organization regardless if they are military. There are now law enforcement, first responder, as well as businesses and think tanks that use them to develop their people.
Moltke coined the phrase that "No plan survives first contact with the enemy." He believed fighting effectively was exploring a series of options and these options were explored in his Tactical Problems. In these videos we look at these problems, and their solutions, with the lens of playing wargames well.
This video is about the question, and solution for Problem 2
